CAPES Academy:
Provides integrated solutions addressing critical shortages in mental health and special education resources within our nation's K-12 schools.
We specialize in training:
Individual Practitioners in Coaching, Mentoring & Facilitation for K-12 teachers, staff, extracurricular programs, families & students. Our practitioners serve all but have training in strenghts-based approaches to dissabilities and mental health needs.
Schools and families struggle to support students with disabilities and mental health needs beyond academic accommodations. Supports are often fragmented, stigmatizing, or limited by staffing and funding, leaving many students caught between special education, counseling, tutoring, and behavioral systems.
CAPES addresses this gap by training practitioners who provide structured, non-clinical, whole-person support aligned with social-emotional development. For example, a middle school student with anxiety and executive functioning challenges meets virtually with a CAPES-trained practitioner. Through coaching, the student builds self-regulation and goal-setting skills. Through mentoring, they strengthen communication and self-advocacy. Through facilitation, they practice planning, problem-solving, and decision-making. When clinical or academic needs arise, referrals are made while CAPES continues skill development and accountability.
This integrated model delivers continuity of support without diagnosis requirements or stigma.
